QUBOID
Plate BWorking agreement

The terms, written down before you ask for them.

Most of what goes wrong on a software project is contractual, not technical. So here is the whole agreement in the open — next to the version of it most clients have lived through already.

B / 01

Two ways the same job gets done.

The left column is not a caricature — it is the standard shape of an agency engagement, and it is why so many businesses arrive here on their second or third attempt.

Quoting

UsuallyAn estimate that moves once the work starts.

QuboidA fixed quote after the discovery week, in writing, before any build.

Who you talk to

UsuallyAn account manager relaying questions to a team you never meet.

QuboidThe designer and the engineer on your build, in the same thread as you.

Seeing progress

UsuallyA status call, then a reveal near the deadline.

QuboidA working staging URL from week two, updated every week.

Ownership

UsuallyCode and accounts live with the agency; leaving means rebuilding.

QuboidRepositories, cloud, domains and design files in your name from day one.

Scope changes

UsuallyAbsorbed silently, then billed as an overrun at the end.

QuboidPriced as a change note you approve before we touch it.

After launch

UsuallyA support contract sold separately once the invoice clears.

QuboidMonitoring, updates and a monthly report included for the first year.

Four clauses that do the heavy lifting.

Clause 01

One team, start to finish

The designer who drew your screens and the engineer who built them are in the same conversation as you.

Clause 02

A fixed quote before we start

Scope, price and dates agreed in writing in week one. If the scope moves, we re-quote before doing the work.

Clause 03

You own everything

Repositories, domains, cloud accounts and design files are in your name from day one. No hostage situations.

Clause 04

We stay after launch

Uptime monitoring, dependency updates and a monthly check-in are included for the first year.

And the work we turn down.

A studio that says yes to everything is a studio with no opinion. If one of these is what you need, we will say so on the first call and point you somewhere better.

  • We don't take projects where nobody on your side can make a decision.
  • We don't quote a build we haven't scoped — the discovery week comes first, always.
  • We don't do design-only handoffs to another agency's developers.
  • We don't buy followers, run link schemes, or promise a search ranking.
  • We don't hold your accounts hostage to keep the retainer.

One name against the work.

Every drawing carries a signature box, because someone has to be accountable for what is on the sheet. Yours is Ajij Ismail — the same person on the first call, the weekly build note and the phone at 9pm the night before launch.
